HOW TO SET A TARGET PITCH?

Hit your drum near a tensioning rod first to detect its pitch.

Once your lug pitch is shown simply press SET.

Now you have set your detected lug pitch as target tone to tune to.

(When a pitch is SET, any overtones will be eliminated in stealth mode by our patented KO-technology.)

Press the RESET button to start over...

HOW TO CHANGE THE MICROPHONE LEVEL?

Press the GEAR icon at the bottom to go to your SETTINGS screen.

Slide the MICROPHONE SENSIVITY switch to the left to reduce the microphone sensitivity.

Slide the MICROPHONE SENSIVITY switch to  the right to increase the microphone sensititvity.

HOW BROAD IS THE PITCH DETECTION RANGE?

The pitch detection range of the app goes from 30 Hz to 385 Hz.

HOW TO ENSURE STABLE READINGS FOR THE FUNDAMENTAL PITCH?

Ensure yourself that you are tuning your drum within the pitch detection range of the app from 30 Hz to 385 Hz. Outside the range readings will always be unstable.

Leave both your drumheads undamped and lift the drum or keep it in its stand to ensure they both vibrate freely.

Point your device's mic at the center of the drumhead, towards the impact location.

Keep your device 5cm-25cm/2"-10" away from the head.  (Experiment with best distance.)

Hit in the center of the drumhead with a constant force to detect the fundamental pitch of your drum.

HOW TO ENSURE STABLE READINGS FOR THE LUG PITCH?

Ensure yourself that you are tuning your drum within the pitch detection range of the app from 30 Hz to 385 Hz. Outside the range readings will always be unstable.

Damp your oposite head. (Put your drum on a flat surface, like a floor or a table.)

Point your device's mic at the edge of the drumhead, towards the impact location.

Keep your device 5cm-25cm/2"-10" away from the head. (Experiment with best distance.)

Hit gently nearby a tensioning rod with constant force, to detect its lug pitch. Do not hit too close near the bearing edge of your drum. Try to hit  5cm-10cm/2"-4" inwards from the edge, towards the drum head center.  (Experiment with best distance.)

HOW TO KILL OVERTONES?

FIRST: Detect the correct lug pitch, as described above.

NEXT:  ACTIVATE KILL OVERTONE TECHNOLOGY

Press 'SET' to set target pitch & activate the patented KO technology that kills overtones automatically. Now you can tune with  stable pitch detection readings!

TO STOP: DE ACTIVATE KILL OVERTONE TECHNOLOGY

Press 'RESET' to release your target pitch and  turn off the patented KO-technology  that kills overtones automatically . Now you can tune freely!

WARNING:

Tight snare drum resonant heads could have pitches  exceeding  the upper pitch detection limit of 385 Hz.

If this is the case, you may see the readings go berzerk, meaning they display wrong values, random values, lower values.

ALWAYS  Keep in mind not to over-tension your drum head when tuning a snare drum resonant head...

If you tighten your snare drum's resonant head fairly high,  we strongly advise you to tune 'old skool' by ear, and especially if you feel the app can't follow.
